Hello and welcome
Volda University College is located in a small town on the west coast of Norway, but our perspective is global. Out of approximately 3500 students, more than 200 are international. Our four faculties offer a variety of courses in their subject areas: Humanities and Education, Social Sciences and History, Art and Physical Education and Media and Journalism.

In the fall of 2017, Volda University College has more students attending than ever before. The new record is 4,184 students, and that is about 9 percent more students than in 2016.
Volda University College has started using Canvas as its LMS platform (Learing Management System), replacing Fronter from the autumn semester of 2017. Fronter will remain available for those who want to access old course information.
A new book, «Fish, Coast and Communities - A History of Norway» offers an in-depth exploration of how the people of Norway have relied on the sea for thousands of years to put food on the table, to build prosperity and to shape their communities. Professor Atle Døssland of Volda University College is one of the co-writers of this publication.
Tuesday August 15 saw the opening of the 2017/2018 academic year at VUC. During the official opening ceremony, both Rector Johann Roppen and guest speaker and Mayor of Vanylven Municipality, Lena Landsverk Sande, noted the importance of cooperation for the future development of society.
